Overview, the leading specialist in the design, manufacture and support of advanced Pointing Solutions has announced a new Integrated Servo Drive solution for the biometric border control market.
The company, which is based in Woking, and which was recently awarded the Queen’s Award for Innovation, has used its expertise in designing Drives with fine movement capability to produce a Integrated Servo Drive that allows for greater accuracy in border control kiosks.
Graham Jones, CEO at Overview, says: “The particular challenge for this application is to be able to manage facial recognition of people of different heights when standing in front of the kiosks. We have been able to develop accurate camera positioning sensor technologies that allow for a small vertical movement range of just 15°, while maintaining camera picture accuracy.”
Using its engineering and technical capabilities, Overview has developed a small, compact Drive, based on its current standard Leto design. When combined with customer bespoke programming it allows the revised motor to operate with a narrow up and down tilt motion. Overview has already supplied Drives to operational kiosks in the field.
