Artemis Highlights
Discover the key features that differentiate Artemis from our other Integrated Servo Drives
Artemis Integrated Servo Drives offer accurate positioning of multi sensor and larger payloads typically up to c. 8kg
Artemis has a 16.5mm diameter internal bore and has an optional slipring available.
Artemis offers continuous motion with software end stops.
Artemis is developed for long term continuous rotation including with offset load.
Artemis is form and fit interchangeable with Atlas.
Agility
Wide speed range, from 0.05°/s up to 1000°/s (0.8 mrads/s- 17.4rad/s), and acceleration up to 3500 rads/s² enables lightning fast response to dynamic conditions without compromising smooth motion. Essential in applications where, for example, agile switching between multiple positions or trying to maintain engagement with evasive targets is critical.
Silence
The unique Servotorq technology behind our Integrated Servo Drives delivers truly silent operation, without compromise to speed or accuracy, bringing benefits to situations where covert or unobtrusive operation is required.
Precision
Overview’s Integrated Servo Drives are designed from the ground up to deliver direct-drive, zero backlash, precision, with accuracy and repeatability levels of up to 0.0055° (96 x 10-6 rad) delivering precise positioning. Servotorq supports control of the first, second and third derivatives of position enabling exacting control and optimised motion.
Easy Integration
Using Integrated Servo Drives is quick and easy, requiring only two connections, one for power and one for control. To assist users, a full range of integration tools, interface definitions and command manuals are readily available. Overview’s dedicated Application Engineering team are always ready and delighted to help.
Zero Backlash
Often drive solutions are advertised as zero backlash when in truth they have reduced but not removed backlash. This is not true with Overview’s Integrated Servo Drives. As the payload is mounted directly to the motor and encoder, with no intervening belts or gears, Integrated Servo Drives achieve true zero backlash. Simplifying the transmission chain also provides benefits in drive efficiency and reliability.
Integrated Slipring
Integrated Servo Drives enable continuous rotation however, this results in challenges with providing power and data signals to the payload. All of Overview’s Integrated Servo Drives have central bores that can support sliprings reducing both the footprint and wiring complexity. Atlas, Artemis and Helios offer high performance slip rings including hybrid optical/copper sliprings supporting high bandwidth data transfer.
Servotorq II
Developed to deliver agility and precision, Servotorq II is the latest iteration of the underlying hardware and firmware technology at the heart of Overview’s Integrated Servo Drives. Providing a high performance, fully integrated ‘all-in-one’ servo drive solution, Servotorq optimises Drive motion delivering rapid, precise and ultra smooth movements.
Intelligent
Overview’s unique Servotorq technology provides a high level of intelligence. Each Drive has a powerful onboard microprocessor hosting the digital servo, drive configuration, command interface, health monitoring and other functions. Servotorq offers a trajectory generator that understands the physics of the drive and payload, applying optimal S-curve motion profile to deliver prefect motion during every move.
Low SWaP
Integrated Servo Drives deliver market leading low Size, Weight and Power at a highly competitive cost point. By combining a bespoke motor, drive electronics, position encoder and digital controller Integrated Servo Drives reduce the number of discrete drive components resulting in an extremely compact footprint without compromising speed and agility.

How this works
Overview’s drives contain precision BLDC motors, advanced electronics, high performance software and precision encoders into fully integrated, direct-drive positioning solutions.
Servotorq II
Servotorq II is the latest evolution of Servotorq technology, delivering a much tighter control loop and significantly faster reaction times.
Servotorq II maintains the Servotorq I core command set, allowing seamless integration whilst introducing field oriented control, functionality and performance enhancements. Four interconnected PID controllers and additional motion filtering capability, allows customers to extract every ounce of performance from each drive across a wide variety of applications.
The fully interruptible third order trajectory generator within Servotorq II make equipped Drives ideal for highly dynamic applications. Versatility and application potential are further expanded by the introduction of CAN control and Helios’ on-drive inertial stabilisation.
Integrated Servo Drives within the Servotorq II series offer torques ranging from 3Nm up to 4Nm and provide speeds of up to 1000°/s.
